Further information
Six days to experience the mountains as a journey: leaving one valley, crossing passes and borders, and reaching a new destination each evening.
From Val di Rhêmes, we ascend to the Benevolo hut. After leaving our overnight luggage, we continue towards Punta Paletta with light packs. The following day, we cross into France through the Col du Fond and Roc de Bassagne area and descend towards Val d’Isère.
We then traverse the heart of the Vanoise, ascending Pointe de la Sana and reaching the Refuge de la Femma before continuing towards Lanserlia and Termignon. A taxi takes us to Valfréjus, the starting point for our final two days towards Grand Argentier and Mont Thabor.
After our last mountain hut night at the Refuge du Mont Thabor, we finish the journey with the ascent of Mont Thabor and the long descent towards Valle Stretta and Bardonecchia. We then return to Aosta by taxi.
Mountain hut nights alternate with stays in Alpine villages. Ski lifts in Val d’Isère and Valfréjus provide access to the higher starting areas of selected stages.
